More about Teddy

Teddy is a Tibetan Terrier with a gentle soul, but he does have a shy and sensitive side to him. He is currently based at Battersea Old Windsor

Teddy is still learning to feel comfortable with the outside world, so having a secure garden will give him a pressure free space to build confidence with his new family. It will really help if his adopters give him plenty of time to settle into the home before trying any walks. Teddy may need a little while before he’s ready for proper outings, as new environments can feel overwhelming for him, but with patience and steady reassurance he’ll get there at his own pace.

Teddy has been friendly with the dogs he’s met, happily greeting them, sharing space, and becoming playful, especially with dogs he already knows. Because he shows such lovely, sociable behaviour, he may be able to live with another dog who matches his gentle temperament and play style.

When getting to know new people, Teddy can be a little hand shy and may move away at first. Once he feels safe, though, he really enjoys a good bum scratch and a gentle chin tickle from the people he trusts.

Teddy is just beginning to show interest in toys when he’s with people he trusts, although they still seem quite new to him. His new owners can help him explore this by offering a variety of different toy types, giving him the chance to discover what he enjoys most at his own pace.

Teddy has so much to offer, with a little time and patience to let his true personality shine, he will become an incredibly rewarding companion.

We ask every customer to first complete our online form we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here: https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming.

Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you are interested in
