More about Tommy
Tommy is a playful two-year-old Old Tyme Bulldog cross who is looking for a home where he can enjoy all the things he loves most, playing with toys, eating and having fuss.
Tommy has been mostly friendly meeting new people, both in his previous home and during his time at Old Windsor. He can be a little uncertain around some unknown people, particularly men but loves fuss from his favourite people.
He was described as an affectionate, loving dog in his previous home and has continued to show this during his stay with us. He can become very excited and bouncy when he sees his harness, so his new owners will need to help him practise keeping all four feet on the ground and reward calm behaviour.
Due to his uncertainty around unfamiliar people, Tommy is looking for a home with a private garden where he can enjoy some quiet time. He has remained housetrained during his stay with us, although his new owners should be prepared for the occasional accident while he settles into his new surroundings.
Tommy enjoys the company of other dogs and has previously enjoyed play dates with a dog friend in a private field. Although he can sometimes be a little worried during initial interactions, with training, he is able to work through this and enjoy himself. Tommy previously lived with another dog, but due to conflicts between them, he is looking to be the only dog in his new home.
Tommy loves his treats, with sausage being a particular favourite. He is also a big fan of his toys and gets particularly excited by a game of tug with his favourite raggers or chasing tennis balls around the garden.
Potential owners will need to speak to a vet prior to rehoming.
Tommy will bring a lot of joy into a home with his love of fuss and enthusiasm for toys.
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Tommy you can e-mail our rehoming team on bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online rehoming application form, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here; https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehome/dogs
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
