Meet Victoria, our lovely little Chihuahua!
Victoria arrived at Battersea as a stray, so sadly we have no history on her or how she is in a home. When she first arrived, she was quite worried and, despite her small size, showed that she had a voice and wasn't afraid to use it! Since settling in, she has grown in confidence and shown herself to be an affectionate little lady who loves her known people.
Victoria is looking for owners with experience of Chihuahua behaviours, as she can be uncomfortable with formal or clinical handling. Her new owners will need to continue her basic training and help her build positive associations with handling at her own pace.
Victoria is worried by other dogs and can be reactive towards them, so she will need to be the only dog in the home. She would benefit from having some calm walking buddies who can help her build confidence around other dogs. She has also shown a strong interest in chasing wildlife while onsite, so she cannot live with cats or other small animals.
Victoria would love a home away from the inner city where she can enjoy quieter walks. Her own private garden would be a bonus, although this isn't essential. Due to her worries around handling, she would be best suited to living with teenagers aged 13+ who can read her body language and give her space when needed.
Victoria really is the sweetest little lady with lots of love to give. She would make a wonderful companion for a Chihuahua enthusiast who is happy to give her the time, patience and understanding she needs.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
