Dog friendly banana pancakes

Published 26 May 2021 • Updated 25 Jun 2026

Our homemade dog pancakes are not just for Pancake Day - they’re the perfect way to treat your dog (and yourself) to something special!

With just four ingredients, they are super simple to make.

Remember, these are a treat for your dog, so you should only make them occasionally and ensure they’re fed to them in small amounts, alongside a well-balanced diet that’s appropriate for their age and lifestyle. They’re not suitable for dogs with special dietary requirements.

INGREDIENTS

1 banana
60g plain/wholemeal flour
60ml unsweetened oat milk
1 egg

(Makes 4 small pancakes)

METHOD

  1. Mash the banana in a bowl, then add the whisked egg and oat milk. Mix all the ingredients together using a hand blender.
  2. Add the flour and mix well. Alternatively, you can put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.
  3. Add a small amount of oil in a frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add 4 tablespoon or a ladle of the mixture into the pan to make one pancake.
  4. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until bubbles start to form on the surface. Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Once cool, you can treat your dog!

The pancakes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Take a look at our dog advice for more information on diets and toxic food for dogs.
