Remy's Story

21 Jan 2026

Remy the Dobermann (previously named Paddy) arrived at Battersea as a stray, with no history but plenty of affection to give.

On a hot summer's day, Remy went on a group walk with Battersea staff to enjoy the good weather and get some socialisation in Battersea Park. By pure chance, they met a couple walking their 7-month-old Dobermann, Cuvee, and sparks started to fly between the two dogs. After they greeted each other, one of Remy’s Battersea walkers mentioned that he was looking for a new home.

Later that day, the couple returned to Battersea’s London centre to ask about Remy. After introductions with Cuvee, park walks and playtime, it was clear this was meant to be. Just over a month after arriving in our care, Remy was heading home with his perfect match.

Having joined his family of champagne-named siblings (Cuvee the Dobermann and Laurent the cat), Remy popped the cork on his happy ending, settling into family life and enjoying park adventures with his soulmate, Cuvee.

Thanks to you, dogs like Remy don’t just find homes, they find love. Thank you for being the reason so many happy endings like this can happen.
