Bright and intelligent Siberian Husky cross, Joey, came to Battersea Old Windsor when his previous owner was sadly no longer able to care for him.
The dedicated staff at Battersea Old Windsor found that 3-year-old Joey loved to spend time with his favourite people. He’s very intelligent, eager to please and show off his skills and tricks. Joey enjoys playing with toys, gnawing on soft squeaky toys and thinks that a game of tug is great. Joey loves attention and is very happy to greet new people and happily lay across people’s laps for a fuss.
Joey found life in the kennels slightly stressful at times, and the Battersea team found that sweet Joey could be quite chatty and vocal. To help Joey settle, the care team gave him enrichment activities and treat as well as letting him spend some time in the offices at Battersea Old Windsor.
To further help ease his stress and set him up for success in a new home, Joey spent time on foster with experienced Battersea foster carers Ella and Nick.
Joey settled well on foster and began to show off his true affectionate nature by bringing toys to his foster carers, enjoying attention and fuss. Joey spent almost four months with Ella and Nick, whose dedication and care helped Joey to flourish and feel more confident.
Joey soon found his loving home, where he continues to receive plenty of affection and attention, as well as progressing with his training.
