Please read these terms and conditions which govern the booking and use of the hydrotherapy sessions at Battersea (“We”, “Us”, “Our”) by you.
1. Please arrive 10 minutes before your hydrotherapy treatment time to give your pet a chance to empty their bowel and bladder in our designated area. Please clean up after your pet.
2. If your pet defecates in the pool, a charge of £30 will be made as the pool will then need to be closed for thorough cleaning.
3. If you arrive up to 10 minutes late for your hydrotherapy treatment, your pet’s session time may be reduced accordingly. If you are over 10 minutes late we may not be able to accommodate your session, however the full session charge may still apply.
4. We require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation for a full refund. If notice of cancellation is provided after this time then the full session charge may still apply.
5. The hydrotherapist will assess your pet each time they see them, prior to the session. The length of session will depend on their age, breed, fitness level, health condition and other factors. The session time includes pre- and post-swim activity and can range from a few minutes up to 25 minutes of actual swimming time.
6. The Vet Referral Form must be completed and returned by your vet prior to your pet undergoing any treatment.
7. You must inform us of any changes to your pet’s health or medication since completion of the Vet Referral Form so we can take this into consideration. Certain conditions, such as ear, eye or skin infections or gastric upset may be exacerbated by the chlorinated water. If you are in any doubt of the health of your pet, please contact the centre with at least 48hrs notice. Normal cancellation conditions will apply if sufficient notice is not given.
8. You must make the Hydrotherapist fully aware of any handling issues/likes/dislikes your pet may have so we can safeguard our staff and your pet.
9. Battersea shall not be liable for any injury or damage howsoever caused to your pet during a hydrotherapy session, including but not limited to any claim arising from any condition of your pet that is either known or unknown to us, other than in respect of any injury or damage arising as a result of Battersea’s negligence.
10. Bitches in season should NOT attend their therapy session.
11. We recommend that your dog is fully vaccinated against Leptospirosis, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, and Canine Parvovirus. With a large number of dogs in our care, we do experience kennel cough outbreaks. Whilst we make every effort to ensure hygiene and infection control processes are in place we are unable to guarantee that there will be no cross- contamination and will not be held liable for any such cross-contamination. You may wish to consider vaccinating your dog against kennel cough.
12. Please allow at least 48 hours before and after your pet’s session to apply topical flea or worming treatment to your pet, otherwise the water will wash away the treatment and thus make it ineffective
13. We reserve the right to cancel or change any session due to unforeseen circumstances such as a pet defecating in the pool, power failure, maintenance or illness. We will do our upmost to contact you as soon as possible if such matter occurs. A full refund will be issued.
14. All therapy treatments must be paid in full, at the time of the session. Block booked sessions must be used within six months of payment.
15. When visiting Battersea’s hydrotherapy centre, you are advised to wear clean non-slip shoes and sensible clothing as the pool area can become very slippery and wet during your pet’s swimming session.
16. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, we cannot allow children under the age of 18 past the hydrotherapy reception into the pool area. Children under the age of 18 also may not be left unattended by their parents or guardians anywhere on Battersea premises and staff cannot assume responsibility for them so we would urge you to keep this in mind when booking your appointment.
17. Battersea cannot be held responsible for any loss or injury to any person or animal, however this occurs, whilst on the Battersea premises. Additionally, Battersea cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles or personal property whilst on the centre’s premises.
18. Smoking is not permitted on site.
19. Please be respectful by ensuring your pet is clean.
20. When your pet is not undergoing treatment but is on Battersea premises, they must be kept on a lead. If your pet is unable to wear a lead/collar/harness because of their condition, please inform us in advance of your visit.
21. If your pet requires assistance getting into the centre due to a medical condition, please notify us so we can help.
22. Car parking on site is strictly subject to prior approval and solely for the duration of your hydrotherapy appointment time.
23. Battersea will not accept rude or intimidating behaviour and reserve the right to refuse treatment to your pet and to require you to leave the premises. All visitors must comply with all instructions given by Battersea staff.
24. Please only bring the pet that is being treated with you. Please do not leave any animal unattended in a parked car.
25. Please specify to a member of staff if you do not wish for photo or video footage of your pet to be used on our social media channels.
26. We may change or update these terms and conditions at any time.
27. These terms and conditions are governed by English law and any disputes arising in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
