Champagne Super-Rovers: Battersea dogs Liam and Noel in search of new home after 150 days in charity’s care

22 Jul 2025

As thousands of fans across the country get ready to see Oasis head south this weekend to continue their comeback tour at Wembley Stadium, staff at Battersea’s Old Windsor centre are hoping that two Chihuahua’s named Liam and Noel can have a special reunion of their own by finding a permanent home.

Just like their Britpop-namesakes, the four-year-old canine duo have charmed staff with their cheeky nature and rockstar energy but have now been in the leading animal welfare charity’s care for 150 days, four times longer than the average stay for a Battersea rescue dog.

Hannah Gee, Rehoming Team Leader at Battersea Old Windsor, said: “Since coming into the centre through no fault of their own, this supersonic pair really are inseparable, and some might say that they’ve stolen the hearts of everyone they meet. Though they were both quite nervous when they first came into us, little by little they have started to come out of their shells and are now looking to complete their band line-up with loving new owners”.

Since being cared for by staff at the centre, the pair have spent time in a foster home developing their own stage personas with Liam showing his sense of mischievous fun, always up for a game with his favourite ball, whilst Noel is a little more laid back but is more than happy to take centre stage with his sibling for play sessions after he’s taken some time to snooze.

Hannah added: “Compared to their doggy counterparts, both Liam and Noel have poorer eyesight than the average dog, so need patient new owners who can help them settle into a familiar routine with predictable spaces they can safely navigate. This doesn't stop them enjoying life to the full however, so if you think you can roll with it and offer these two superstars a place to play, we’d love to hear from you”.

So they can potter and explore in their own time Liam and Noel would like a private garden and would prefer to live as the only pets in the house. The duo could potentially live with older teenagers who can respect their space and give them time to settle.
