Spice up your life with Clove! This sweet and spirited ex-racing Greyhound is ready to put her racing days behind her and discover the joys of home life. Clove has plenty of personality, from her playful side and love of squeaky toys to her wonderfully friendly nature with people. She can be a little bouncy when excited, but underneath this is a gentle girl who is learning to find her paws in the world.
Clove has been confident and relaxed on walks and particularly enjoys exploring green spaces away from busy roads. She loves soft toys, balls and anything that squeaks, and she also enjoys food-based enrichment such as scatter feeding and slow feeders. Around larger dogs, Clove can be friendly but sometimes feels unsure, preferring to keep her distance and enjoy a calm parallel walk with a steady companion. She has shown more interest in smaller dogs and may be inclined to chase, so she will need to be kept on lead and muzzled when out as part of her current rehoming criteria.
Clove is looking for patient owners who understand that she may need time to adjust to life in a home, as she has likely never experienced one before. She will need a private, secure garden and would prefer to be the only dog, although there may be potential to live with another sighthound following successful introductions. She cannot live with cats or other small furries, due to her chase drive. Clove would suit a home with sensible teenagers aged 16+ who can give her space when needed. We advise that her new family should be around for most of the settling-in period and be prepared to gradually build up alone time, as well as patiently helping her with housetraining and getting used to everyday household life. The most important thing is giving this lovely girl the time, guidance and understanding she needs to flourish!

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
