More about Coconut (BBH DOG)
Meet Coconut!
This boy came to us from another charity where he had been living in a foster home with other dogs and older children. In this home he was playful and friendly, however we have also seen a more worried side to Coconut while in our care. Coconut can be worried of new things and environments, but did show a more confident side while in the foster home and can become excitable when having fuss with his known people.
Due to his worry, Coconut is looking for a new home in a quieter location with it's own private garden for secure offlead time and confidence building. He will need new owners who can be around for the majority of the time while he settles in and then build his time alone up gradually and sympathetically.
He could benefit from living with a calmer mature dog who can act as a role model for Coconut, but would not be suited to living with cats. He could also potentially live with older, calmer children who can respect his space and be gentle when interacting with Coconut.
Above all, Coconut is looking for new owners with the patience to help him settle back into home life and build up his confidence to help bring him out of his shell so he can share his personality with them.
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Coconut, you can email our rehoming team on bbh.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here (https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming).
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
