More about Crystal
Crystal is a fun-loving, affectionate Greyhound with a wonderful balance of playful energy and laid-back charm. One moment she'll be racing around with joyful zoomies, and the next she'll be curled up somewhere cosy, fast asleep. Giving new owners the best of both worlds.
True to her Greyhound nature Crystal adores leaning into her favourite people for a fuss and is always happy to soak up affection. She enjoys meeting new people and quickly wins hearts with her sweet nature.
Crystal has previously lived with young children but found the busy household a little overwhelming. Because of this, we feel she would be happiest in a calm, adult-only home where she can relax and enjoy life at her own pace.
She is a huge fan of comfort. In her previous home, her favourite place was the sofa and she can be reluctant when she’s asked to move before she’s ready to do so. She's currently learning a "place" cue to help her move happily to another comfy spot when needed, and she's already making fantastic progress with her training.
Crystal loves exploring outdoors. She enjoys peaceful woodland walks where she can take in all the exciting new scents, and visits to secure private fields are one of her favourite activities. After a few joyful zoomies, she's happiest wandering alongside her people, investigating every interesting sniff before heading home for a well-earned snooze. She's also good in the car, happily stretching out for a nap after her adventures.
She has had mixed reactions with other dogs and can sometimes lack confidence around them. While she has made a few dog friends here, she'll benefit from continued support and positive experiences as she builds her confidence. Due to this, she would like to be the only dog in her new home.
Crystal is often found keeping herself entertained by throwing toys already and is equally please by food. She absolutely loves her treats and takes them gently, making reward-based training both enjoyable and effective.
Crystal has previously been comfortable being left alone for around three hours in a home. As with any new dog, we'd recommend building up leaving times gradually so she can settle into her new routine feeling safe and secure. This gentle approach will support Crystal as she learns your household routine and gains confidence in her new home.
If you're looking for a loving companion who enjoys outdoor adventures just as much as curling up for an afternoon nap, Crystal has a lot of love to give in return. She is looking for a home where she can truly relax, enjoy life's simple pleasures, and be adored as part of the family.
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Crystal, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bow.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
