More about Crystal

Crystal is a fun and affectionate Greyhound based at our Old Windsor site.

True to her Greyhound nature she loves to lean on people for a fuss, and does enjoy meeting new people.

Crystal has previously lived in a home with young children, and she found their energy a little overwhelming. So we feel a calmer, adult-only home would suit her best.

From what we know of Crystal, she loves her cosy spots and in her previous home she especially enjoyed the sofa. She can be reluctant when she’s asked to move before she’s ready to do so. To help with this Crystal is currently learning a “place” cue to encourage her to move to an alternative resting area when needed and we have already seen Crystal making progress with this training.

She has had a mixture of reactions to other dogs, and although she has some dog friends here, she can lack confidence around them and will need some support in this area.

Crystal enjoys going on walks and zooming around paddocks. She will need a private garden where she can stretch her legs and enjoy some time off lead. Although toys are not particularly interesting for her, Crystal loves food and takes treats very gently.

We have taken Crystal on a few adventures away from our centre, she preferred woodland areas enjoying all the new smells. She stretched out in the car having a nap and really enjoyed a peaceful morning walk.

Crystal previously spent some time in a home where she was comfortable being left for around three hours. To help her feel secure in her new environment, we recommend starting with short leaving periods and gradually building them up. This gentle approach will support Crystal as she learns your household routine and gains confidence in her new home.

Crystal would make a truly rewarding and loving companion for the right home.
