Hazel is a sweet youngster who has just turned one years old! We are not sure what breed she is but our staff have guessed at a mixture of Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Rottweiler and possibly some Labrador too.
Hazel is a very clever girl who picks up her training well and has shown that really enjoys using her brain, we are not sure on her background as she came into Battersea as a stray. Since spending some time on foster, we have seen that Hazel will need support in learning everything that living in a home brings to her. When overwhelmed, Hazel can display some overstimulated behaviours such as jumping up, mouthing and being vocally demanding. She has an inquisitive nature and loves nothing more than to explore her new environment in ways that can be endearing. With the support of our behaviour team Hazel has learnt many cues and alternatives for these behaviours, she will need calm, relaxed and sympathetic new owners who will support her with a settling period and continue her ongoing training. Our rehoming and behaviour teams will demonstrate all the training that has been completed while at Brands Hatch and the further training needed in the home.
To best support her in a new home, Hazel is looking for a calm household with not many comings and goings. She will need access to her own enclosed garden as at times she can find the bigger world too much, needing her own safe space to relax and play in. Hazel also really enjoys interacting with toys, tunnels and paddling pools in these spaces.
Hazel does have bilateral hip dysplasia and therefore will need owners who understand the limits that this will have towards exercise. Our clinic team will of course go through this in more detail and explain what this means for her and how new owners can support this condition.

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
