Meet Missy, our gorgeous black Greyhound with a heart of gold! This gentle girl has been an absolute joy to have at the centre, winning over everyone she meets with her sweet and affectionate nature. Missy is looking for a loving home where she can leave her racing days behind and enjoy the quieter things in life!
Missy is a calm and loving girl who enjoys spending time with people. Although she can be a little worried at times, she has shown us just how quickly her confidence can blossom with a little patience and reassurance. As an ex-racing Greyhound, Missy has shown some chase behaviours towards wildlife and smaller dogs, although she has also demonstrated that she can calmly pass smaller dogs when out on walks and would be suited to living with dog of a similar size to her. Missy absolutely loves having the opportunity to stretch her legs in our secure paddocks, but is equally happy enjoying some quiet time and relaxing in her kennel. She really is a lovely girl with so much affection to offer!
Missy is looking for a patient and understanding family who can help her settle into her new life as a much loved companion. She would be happiest living in a quieter location with access to peaceful green spaces, as busy environments and loud noises can sometimes leave her feeling a little overwhelmed. As Missy may not have experienced living in a home before, she will need owners who are happy to introduce her gradually to home life, including helping her learn about housetraining and building up time spent alone. Having someone around for most of the day initially would help her find her feet, alongside a secure, private garden where she can enjoy stretching her legs and exploring at her own pace.
With a little patience, plenty of love and a cosy place to call her own, Missy has all the makings of a truly wonderful companion. She’s ready to swap the racetrack for a loving family and start her next chapter!

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
