More about Nelson
Our very own doggie activist, Nelson the Rottweiler x Dogue de Bordeaux!
Meet our gentle giant, Nelson, who despite his big intense eyes, is a truly loveable boy who enjoys cuddles with his favourite people and playing with his toys. He does have a sensitive side at times, but overall is a wonderful boy with so much love to give!
He was very under-socialised around other dogs outside of his previous home, due to not going out on many walks, so we have explored this extensively on site and now know a lot more about him and are confident with the ongoing training we will be passing on to new owners. We have found that Nelson can be very intense and stiff when meeting other dogs and can become frustrated easily. Due to the behaviours seen, Nelson will need to be kept on lead and muzzled when out and about at all times going forwards. He has taken to his muzzle like a superstar and looks very handsome when wearing it!
Nelson will need a home without any other pets, and with a nice secure and private garden for him to enjoy muzzle-free off lead time to play with his toys and build bonds with his new family. He would be best suited living with older teens due to his size, bounciness and sensitive side and would like a home location away from any busy city or highly dog populated areas. He has a good history with being left alone, so new owners could build up to leaving him regularly during the day after a settling in period.
If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more Nelson, you can e-mail our rehoming team on bbh.rehomers@battersea.org.uk to register your interest.
We ask every customer to first complete our online form before we discuss an individual animal, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here https://www.battersea.org.uk/rehoming
Please be aware that we have a large amount of interest in rehoming our animals, so we are only able to contact those that are a match for the dog you have contacted us about.
