More about Opal
Opal is a delightful and loyal German Shepherd cross, she is based at our Old Windsor centre.
Her biggest love is people and she is keen to greet anyone she can, sometimes she tries to sit on laps and will lean on you for fuss.
She's less confident when first greeting other dogs and needs some support in this area, as she does not always know how to interact. When she's comfortable she will often have a chase game and, true to her breed, can sometimes get a little over enthusiastic but will read dogs well. At this stage she needs to live as the only pet in her new home.
Opal is keen to please and enjoys learning new things. She has some great basic training in place and knows 'sit', 'paw', 'down', 'wait' to name a few, though she could easily learn more. She also enjoys playing with and chasing toys. She has learnt to bring them back for a game and soft toys are her favourite.
She has shown to be slightly worried and stressed around some forms of handling so she will need ongoing positive training to help her become more comfortable in these areas. She'll be a brilliant dog for owners looking for a fun, devoted dog to go on adventures with.
