Our delightful and delectable Popeye is a bouncy and fun lad who loves to bound around our paddocks playing with his toys. We aren't too sure on his breed types, but he is a larger bulldog type with beautiful colouring, a bit like a Pointer! Popeye lives to make people laugh and is a real goofball.
Popeye was a much loved family companion in his previous home, he has found kennel life a little stressful but the team members have advised he is a fun loving boy who is not fully aware of his size as he loves nothing more than to sit on your lap! Popeye would love his own garden to run around in and for some housetraining reminders, his own space will also be really beneficial for continuing some of his ongoing training needs.
Popeye could potentially live with teens pending intros at our Brands Hatch centre, he can be excitable and bouncy once he gets to know you. He can be a vocal boy when first meeting people but makes friends very quickly and ultimately is just demanding for a fuss! Popeye has some good obedience in place and the ability to learn much more - he does enjoy his food so should be a pleasure to train! He enjoys going on walks and is an active boy, so will need owners who are physically able to manage him and provide him with adequate daily exercise. Popeye can find more formal type handling and restraint, such as veterinary checks, quite exciting and can wiggle and fidget, so will need his new owners to invest some time and patience into this area to get him more used to being formally handled. The team at Brands Hatch have been supporting him with his handling needs and have put in a successful training programme in place, the team will demonstrate this with any potiential new owners.
Popeye is a really fabulous boy who will make a wonderful companion in his new home!

Rehoming FAQs
Here at Battersea, we assess all of our dogs individually and create a rehoming profile for them. To ensure successful matches between people and pets, we use a combination of extensive rehoming experience, our staff expertise and the information you provided in your rehoming form. Once you complete your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email to let you know that we have everything we need to begin our matchmaking process, as well as the next steps of the process.
This may not always be the dog you thought it would be, which is why we ask that you see the registration form as a way of registering your interest in rehoming, not an application for a specific animal. We’re experts in making sure we find the right home for our dogs and the right dog for your home.

Once you’ve completed our online registration form, we’ll handle the rest. Your rehoming registration will be open for up to three months, and in that time, we’ll do our very best to try and match you with a pet that best suits you and your lifestyle. It can take a bit of time for us to try and match you with a pet – but we promise it’s time well spent. We’re committed to getting to know every animal at our centres before finding a match that works for our dogs and for you wherever possible.
If we are not able to match you with a dog within three months, we’ll let you know and offer guidance to help you continue your search, either at Battersea or beyond.

Our rehoming fee is £230 for dogs (over six months), £350 for a pair of dogs, or £275 for puppies (under six months). We accept cash or debit/credit card as payment (we are unable to accept cheques). Included in this cost are the following:
- Microchipping
- Initial vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
- Neutering
- A collar, identification tag and lead
- Starter pack of food, advice and special offers
- Four weeks’ free Petplan insurance as your dog settles into their new surroundings
Something to bear in mind is that our rehoming fee is just the beginning of the costs involved with owning a dog. We would recommend that before making the decision to rehome, you investigate the costs of pet food, pet insurance, grooming and fees at your local veterinary centre so that you are fully prepared for the financial implications of bringing a dog into your home.
