More about Ruby

Ruby is a gentle and charming Saluki cross based at our Old Windsor centre.

She has lived in her previous home for her whole life and has found the change of environments quite overwhelming, so she is looking for her next home where she can settle back in and get her lovely character back. In her previous home, Ruby was affectionate and very good at home - she was housetrained and settles well. She just loves company and is happiest laying next to you where she can have a stroke. With staff she knows here at Battersea Old Windsor she is relaxing and will lay with her head on their lap or calmly give them a little tap her paw for some attention.

Ruby will happily walk past dogs but does not want anything to do with them and likes to keep to herself, though she did previously have some walking friends that she had been able to take time to get to know. She needs to live as the only dog in her home and would not be comfortable in a home where other dogs need to visit regularly. She has previously shown some chase behaviours towards smaller dogs, and when she has found her feet again she may well show this again so owners should be mindful of this.

Although Ruby used to enjoy walks, she is currently nervous about going out and about. She'll be best living in a quiet location away from roads and without too much going on, so that she can learn to enjoy walks again at her own pace.

Ruby is looking for quiet and patient owners who can give her space and time as she adjusts to her new home. She really is a gem with a wonderful personality and really just needs the right home to be able to flourish again.
