Jemma Waters

Jemma Waters has a strong background in using data and tech for good, focusing on shaping customer/citizen engagement across multiple industries and international markets. Currently, she serves as the Head of Customer Inclusion at Lloyds Banking Group, leading efforts in Inclusive Delivery; ensuring customer engagement and interactions are available and accessible to all.

Beyond customer brands, Jemma is actively involved in societal and community partnership initiatives. One notable example is the Lloyds Bank Academy, which has supported over 400,000 charities and small businesses in improving their digital capabilities and confidence in the past year.

Jemma is also a trustee for the digital skills charity FutureDotNow and serves as an advisor to the Tech Talent Charter. She is a new mother to daughter Harper, and cat mum to Hector, a rescue adopted from Battersea in 2021.

Pankaj KC

Committee Member

Pankaj KC is a dedicated international campaigner who has devoted his life to creating a better and harmonious world for animals and humans alike. With over 15 years of ongoing experience in leading international campaigns on a wide range of issues, from climate change to water and sanitation, as well as various animal welfare concerns, he has contributed to creating significant impact in the field.

Born and raised in Nepal, Pankaj has a deep understanding and appreciation for living in harmony with the community's street dogs. His unique perspective and first-hand experience have provided him with invaluable insights into effectively and, more importantly, humanely managing dog populations.

In his past role, he served as the Director of the 'Animals in Communities' program at World Animal Protection. He was instrumental in leading a global team. The team advocated for and guided many Lower and Middle Income Countries governments around the world. They assisted in adopting and implementing humane dog population management policies and programs.

Currently, as a director of campaigns at Humane Society International Europe, he is leading a team spread across Europe to create a better Europe for animals.

He also currently holds the esteemed position of Chair of the International Companion Animal Management Coalition. The only global institution dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and cats worldwide.

Pankaj hopes to inspire others to join the cause and make a positive difference in the lives of animals and humans, ultimately working towards a more compassionate and harmonious planet.

Bradley Viner

Committee Member

Bradley Viner qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1978 and established a group of five companion animal veterinary practices in North West London. In 2000 he completed an MSc with Middlesex University on attitudes to clinical auditing in veterinary practice. Then a Professional Doctorate on the introduction of clinical audit into veterinary practice.

Bradley has written many books on pet care, particularly cats. Now, as well as running practices, he lectures to veterinary undergraduates. He wrote Success in Veterinary Practice published by Wiley in 2010 and regularly writes for 'Your Cat' magazine. He is currently Chair of the Preliminary Investigation Committee at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the governing body of the veterinary profession. In 2017 was elected as a Fellow of the RCVS.

David Watson

Committee Member

David joined Battersea as a member of the Council of Trustees in 2020 and later joined the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. A chartered accountant with a Cambridge law degree, David has worked throughout his career in the financial services sector. He has held senior management roles within investment banking, private equity and asset management.

David is a member of the Council of the University of York and Chairs the University's Audit and Risk Committee. In addition, David is a Governor at ETC FE Colleges Group where he also chairs the Audit and Risk Committee, is a member of the Peoples Committee and is the Governor-lead for Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.

A keen cyclist and gardener, David lives in North Yorkshire with his Partner, Nik, and their three recue dogs, Whizz, Archie and Bugs.

Sarah Anderson

Committee Member

Sarah joined Battersea’s Global Programmes Advisory Board in June 2021. Her career began in the private sector at US IT firm BMC Software and consultancies EY and Deloitte. Sarah then spent 20 years in the Diplomatic Service with postings at the UN in New York negotiating child rights. She also oversaw bilateral political relations at the Embassy in Santiago. Additionally, she supervised the Iberian consular, visa, and passport services at the British Consulate in Madrid.

She then spent several years working in the Prime Minister’s Office overseeing the delivery of the UK’s ‘GREAT Britain’ campaign. This campaign was delivered across 144 countries, and through 750+ partners from every industry sector. Sarah is now the Director of Corporate Engagement at the London School of Economics, bringing together business and academia to create positive social impact. Sarah is a passionate advocate of animal rights, and a huge animal lover who grew very attached to the infamous No.10 cat.
