More about Aria
Meet our wonderful Dappled Daxie Aria! She loves her people and just wants a space to curl up under a blanket.
Aria is a bit of a worried sausage and hasn't had much exposure to the outside world; due to this she will become vocal when worried or scared. She is anxious meeting new people but warms up if introductions are taken slowly and at her pace. She may need to meet people more than once to feel completely happy. She is also extremely worried of other dogs and does not like them approaching her, she will need careful exposure to the outside world and loves nothing more than to explore a mature garden with lots of sniffs.
She is looking for a quiet home with new owners who are patient and understanding that she likely won't ever be a confident or outgoing dog; she would much prefer to snuggle up on the sofa then venture outside on big walks. Due to this, It is essential that Aria has direct access to a secure, private garden in her new home; she is also a very sound sensitive girl so for these reasons would not be suitable for living in a flat. Aria is very lively and loves to play and do enrichment, this is essential for her going forward as she really enjoys this and keeps her brain busy and enables to burn off some of that Sausage dog energy she has stored up!
Little Aria is going to need ongoing support with her house-training, she is currently learning to use puppy pads on foster, but this is still a work in progress. Aria would benefit from having multiple adults in the household to support her settling and minimise the amount of time she is left on her own as she does struggle with separation anxiety.
Once this little Sausage dog has made friends with you, she will be your friend for life, once you get past the worry, she has been the most friendly, engaging, playful and funny little character you could ever hope to have around. She has been a wonderful companion to her foster carers and never fails to cheer them up and make them laugh.
A lot of Aria's behaviours are classic traits of Dachshunds. Ideally if new owners have experience of the breed then they will not find her so much to take on as a little package
Our rehoming team will go through all her training needs with any possible new owners both verbally and in person.
