Amanda Holden to bring glitz & glamour to Battersea’s Collars & Coats Gala Ball

02 NOVEMBER 2017

Amanda Holden is to host the spectacular Collars & Coats Gala Ball – Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s biggest fundraising event of the year.
An Ambassador for the much-loved animal charity, Amanda is set to take to the stage on Thursday 2 November at Battersea Evolution to help shine a light on the hard work of the animal welfare charity who care for over 7000 homeless dogs and cats every year.
Proudly supported by our headline sponsor Vets4Pets, Collars & Coats will be welcoming top entertainments acts to the stage such as headliners UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, who will be performing their classic songs such as Red Red Wine and (I Can’t Help) Falling in Love With You. The reggae hit-makers have sold over 70 million records worldwide and are currently in the middle of their sell out North America and Canada tour.
Other high-profile celebrities will be showing their support on the night such as Battersea Ambassador and model David Gandy to help raise thousands of pounds for the unwanted animals who arrive at the Home at no fault of their own.
Battersea Ambassador Amanda Holden said: “I can’t wait to again host what will be an incredibly special and memorable night to celebrate the hard work of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. I’m so passionate about the care the charity is able to provide to thousands of vulnerable animals every year thanks to the generosity of supporters across the country – it wouldn’t be possible without you. So please grab your dancing shoes and join us for a fantastic evening to raise money for the innocent animals who so desperately need our help.”
Claire Horton, Battersea’s Chief Executive said: “Amanda really has been an outstanding Ambassador to Battersea since 2013 and we’re so appreciative of the work she has done to raise awareness of the Home. We look forward to seeing her do a splendid job on stage, welcoming our fantastic guests and hosting a top evening of entertainment.”

About Battersea Dogs & Cats Home
Established in 1860, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home aims never to turn away a dog or cat in need of our help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. We are champions for, and supporters of, vulnerable dogs and cats, determined to create lasting changes for animals in our society.
Since it was founded, Battersea has rescued, reunited and rehomed over 3.1 million dogs and cats.
In 2016 the Home cared for over 7000 dogs and cats.
Battersea cares for an average of 270 dogs and 200 cats across its three centres at any one time.
There is no time limit on how long an animal can stay at the charity but the average stay for a dog is 35 days and 22 days for a cat.
In 2016 26% of dogs and 32% of cats arrived as strays.
In addition to the site in South West London, the Home also has two other centres based at Old Windsor, Berkshire and Brands Hatch, Kent.
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home rehomes dogs and cats all over the UK.
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home receives no central government funding towards the care of its dogs and cats and relies on the generosity and support of the public to help care for lost and abandoned dogs & cats. To make a donation visit our website or call 0207 627 7883.
